Round 4: "GENDER - It's complicated"
"Create a campaign that clearly educates young people about what they can do to support non-binary people, and elicits active support."
— Laura Jordan Bambach
INSIGHT
People love to experiment on themselves with filters and Snapchat additions because it’s a fun activity to play with how you identify, but for non-binary people it’s one of the scariest things they ever do.
IDEA
We'll add gender to the agenda of discussion by turning Snapchat's face swap into a gender swap.
EXECUTION
When people take snaps using the feature they'll be prompted with a message around support of non-binary people. Snappers will be encouraged to share their snaps, and be given a website link filled with educational information regarding types of non-binary identities and testimonials from those who have re-assigned their own gender.
To spread the message billboards and digital banners will be created from shared snaps, uniting the public and eliciting active support for the non-binary community.
